NetShade offers you the possibility to hide your real identity by directing your internet traffic through a proxy server, or via aVPN. User friendly solution for anonymizing your online activity Of course, the connection speed is very important, so you can choose to automatically exclude the servers that have a low ping value. NetShade (v.4.0.1) makes your presence on the web anonymous by routing your connection through a proxy server and acting as the middle-man in your connection. ![]() In the Proxy Manager panel you get to easily add new servers to the list, block certain address, or apply country and anonymity filters. Going through the NetShade main window is advisable any time you want to customize your experience in any way: the Settings icon placed in the top right corner allows you to access the Proxy Manager window, to batch test the proxies, to enable the auto-cycle function, or to refresh the proxy listing. The entire procedure is reduced to a few clicks. Via the minimalist NetShade menu you get to quickly change both the NetShade proxy and the NetShade VPN server, or switch to a public and user setup proxy. NetShade comes with a main window that has a very stylish design and enables you to make various adjustments, but the unobtrusive NetShade status bar menu provides access to the same functions in a significantly more streamlined manner. Manage your connection via a small status bar NetShade is a Mac OS X application that can help you hide your actual connection by using a VPN, or a proxy server. I modified the code as follows and it is working absolutely fine now without any delay.Preserving your anonymity while browsing the internet is extremely important, especially if you want to protect yourself against data theft. These servers include public HTTP/HTTPS proxies, as well. The script was working fine but had a problem where it would wait for 5 to 6 seconds after executing "click bt" above. Tell (first menu item whose title is "SBH80") of menu of bt Set bt to (first menu bar item whose description is "bluetooth") of menu bar 1 tell application "System Events" to tell process "SystemUIServer" I was having the same problem where I created a script to connect/disconnect my bluetooth headset through AppleScript. Rest of the code to click stuff or send keycodes do shell script "killall System\\ Events" (II) I then also had to kill System Events to and start it again using the following commands. NetShade's VPN servers run IPSec, and the proxy servers act using the HTTP/HTTPS web proxy standard. These servers include public HTTP / HTTPS proxies, as well as Rayner Software's own subscription-based proxies. In my case, it was click bt after which the execution was going into a wait mode for 5 to 6 seconds. NetShade is an app for Mac OS X and iOS which provides access to anonymous proxy and VPN servers. (I) Identify the click which is causing the delay and enclose only that line in the ignoring application responses block as shown below. To remove delay you need to do two things: ![]() Is there a way to speed the process up? Maybe even a way to do all this in the background, without showing the menu items? I already tried to add ignoring application responses, like suggested in a different thread ( link), but that didn't help. All 9 of NetShades worldwide Proxy servers are now VPN servers as well. Version 3, released in 2007, added a second NetShade proxy server, providing presence in both the US and UK. A dedicated NetShade proxy server was added for version 2.0 in 2005. The first version had no subscription-based proxy service, only a listing of public proxies. Tell menu item "NetShade Proxy" of menu 1 NetShade version 1.0 was released in 2004 for Mac OS X. Tell application "System Events" to tell process "NetShade" I'm using the following code: set theProxy to "Netshade US 4" ![]() The first menu opens immediately, but the selection of the sub-menu and the proxy server takes several seconds. Unfortunately my code is extremely slow (≈6sec), which makes it kind of impractical as a script. After a few tries (and some posts here) I managed to have a script, that switches the proxies via the menu bar item (here is a picture of it, since I can't post it inline due to reputation limit). The NetShade-app has no AppleScript support, so I have to use UI scripting. I'm using NetShade as a proxy service and thought I could try to automate the switching between the different proxies as a nice start for my first AppleScript script.
